Thanksgiving Turkey Safety Tips

Thanksgiving Day is a time to celebrate with family and friends, a chance to carve out some quality time to eat, drink and be merry. Unfortunately, it can also be a time of not so festive things like house fires and car accidents.

Don’t let your butterball become a fireball! Here are some tips from TopLine Insurance Agency that will keep you free of any insurance claims this holiday season.

When deep-frying a turkey, it is always important to remember:

  1. Always use your fryer outside on a flat surface, away from your house, deck or any flammable objects.
  2. Make sure your turkey is completely thawed before cooking.
  3. Never leave your fryer unattended.
  4. Make sure to not overfill with oil – your turkey will displace some and can cause it to overflow if too much oil is in the pot.
